Arthur L. Meyer is the managing principal of our firm. Mr. Meyer is a 1975 graduate of St. Louis University with a Bachelor in Science in Business Administration magna cum laude. In 1978, he received his law degree from St. Louis University as well.

After graduation from law school, Mr. Meyer was in public accounting with KPMG Peat Marwick where he served as manager for the Tax and Financial Planning Department. For the past twenty-five (25) years, Mr. Meyer has been engaged in a full service law practice.

Mr. Meyer is licensed as both an attorney and Certified Public Accountant in the State of Missouri. He has also been certified as an Accredited Estate Planner by the National Association of Estate Planners. Mr. Meyer is ranked in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory as AV, the highest rating available.

Mr. Meyer is a member of the Taxation and Business Law Sections of the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Edward J. Balmes is a partner of our firm and a 1981 graduate of S. Illinois University at Cardondale with a Masters of Accounting. After graduate school, Mr. Balmes was in public accounting with KPMG Peat Marwick where he served as Manager for the Tax and Financial Planning Department. He has served as Vice President - Tax for a financial institution & as Chief Financial Officer for a broker-dealer & Registered Investment Advisory firm.

For the last 17 years, he has resumed practicing public accounting, first as a sole proprietor, then merging with Fialka, Meyer & Co. and his business associate of many years, Mr. Arthur L. Meyer.

In addition to being a licenced Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Balmes is licensed as a registered representative and registered investment advisor with Moloney Securities Co., Inc.

Mr. Balmes serves as an adjunct accounting faculty member at Webster University for the Business and Technology Department. He has spoken about tax planning strategies and tax law changes at seminars and as a guest on radio talk shows.
